Body Contouring Implants

BODY CONTOURING IMPLANTS FOR THE BUTTOCKS, CALVES, AND CHEST

Body contouring implants facilitate the permanent augmentation and enhancement of specific body parts that would benefit from an increase in size, shape, and definition. Commonly sought out by patients feeling frustrated after traditional diet and exercise regimens have stalled or plateaued, body contouring implants allow patients to overcome the constraints of time and genetics, and to achieve the perfectly developed, sculpted physique they desire.

At Vu Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, located in Stockton, CA, Board Certified plastic surgeon Dr. Hugh L. Vu understands how exasperating it can be to spend countless hours in the gym and yet never achieve the exact body-shaping results you are striving for because of genetic limitations that are beyond your control. To accommodate the cosmetic enhancement needs of these patients, and any patient seeking an advanced body-sculpting solution, Dr. Vu is pleased to offer customized body contouring implant surgery for the calves, chest (pectoral), and buttocks (gluteal).

IMPLANT OPTIONS

Chest (Pectoral, Subpectoral, ‘Pec’) Implants

Widely considered the centerpiece of bodybuilding, optimal development of the chest muscles (pectoralis major and minor) is integral to achieving the ideal male physique. Many men struggle to complete their aesthetic goals pertaining to pectoral size, fullness, thickness, and definition because of limitations imposed by genetics and/or time constraints. The surgical insertion of pectoral implants produces the desired thickness of the chest area, and is often the most natural-looking of all the body contouring implants because the pectoral implant is placed underneath the chest muscle (subpectoral), bringing forward the patient’s own pectoral muscle and thus creating a thicker, fuller look.

Chest implant surgery is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia, and lasts approximately two hours. After the implant has been placed, the incision (made in the armpit area) will be closed with several layers of sutures and the patient will be fitted with a compression vest to minimize swelling and implant shifting. The first 24 hours after chest implant surgery requires complete bed rest to allow the body to heal and recuperate—pain medications will be prescribed to ensure your comfort during the initial healing phase, and physical activity should be limited until pain, swelling, and stiffness subside. Workouts should not be resumed until the area around the implant has fully healed (typically 4-6 weeks after surgery).
